The topic of climate change in this story has been approached in a lovely way which allows children to relate more to the topic. I didn't see the point of this being a Christmas book, a family sit in front of a Christmas tree in their large house and say that each year they read a letter from Grandad. I was excited to read this as I have enjoyed many Morpurgo books and I love Christmas picture books. Author Luke Palmer introduces his new book, Play (Firefly Press) about four boys growing up together, the challenges, the friendships, and what hap. A gorgeous hardback with beautiful dust jacket, the illustrations are wonderful and the story grabbed my heart and made me sit up and take notice.
