About this deal

One Christmas Eve night while driving back from a Maidstone hospital in an ambulance, after taking a patient there, we were driving up Blue Bell Hill when suddenly my co-driver and myself noticed a person, in what appeared to be wearing a wedding dress, step out into the road, I slowed down, and my mate leant out the cab window asked her where she was going this time of night. Two spring to mind as the most often reported - a phantom lorry that appears on the wrong side of the road and a mysterious hitchhiker who disappears whilst sitting in the vehicle of the person kind enough to have stopped and given him/her (accounts vary) a lift.

I think it was on QED years ago, although I remember they always put a hefty chain hanging off the rear bumper to ground the car. The Devil’s Elbow is a popular spot for walkers and cyclists, and there are several routes that take in the bend.

Four years after the accident, a man on his way home to Rochester late at night saw two pedestrians walking towards him when they suddenly disappeared.

Neil said: “I believe Miss Trigg to be the suspect to at least half the sightings over the years, but not all. He thought it would be unwise to try and move her into his car, so he rushed off to Rochester Police Station to report what had happened. With literally hundreds to choose from, the intrepid ghost hunter is spoilt for choice when visiting the Emerald Isle. I found it along with your post after finishing the book with my kids and looking up where the standing stones in the book actually are.Drivers have reported seeing their ghosts standing on the side of the road or walking in front of their cars, some even claim they have seen a woman in a white dress darting across the road. In recent times, witnesses have reported a strange black form sliding from the moorlands across the road – could that be the Devil still looking for the daughter? When the car got closer, they realised it was an elderly woman wearing old fashioned, worn out clothes. In 1992, three separate motorists reported knocking down a figure that ran into their path late at night but police failed to find any evidence that an accident had occurred. These five routes are sure to give you a fright, so buckle up and get ready for some serious scares!
