H!P is the brainchild of James Cadbury, someone who knows a thing or two about making chocolate (he’s the founder of ethical, luxury chocolate brand, Love Cocoa and the great-great-great grandson of the original Mr John Cadbury). The inspiration for H!P came from James’ own personal experience of cutting down on dairy. He couldn’t find anything on the market that tasted like a creamy milk chocolate bar and so decided to create something himself.

With March being Food Month here at TechRound, we wanted to feature some up-and-coming businesses and startups within the food industry, including those health foods, those which specialise in alcohol, and not forgetting those which manufacture sweet treats and chocolates! Launched to fill a gap in the market for an oat mi!k based vegan chocolate is HAPPi, the chocolate brand designed to put a smile on your face. Over 1million H!P bars have been sold since the brand launched in March 2021, testament to the ever-growing popularity of oat milk, (it’s the fastest-growing milk alternative here in the UK and globally). Oat milk is also far more sustainable to produce compared with traditional dairy milk chocolate, so it’s better for the environment too. First of all, the name is self-explanatory and a stroke of genius, Lisa Gair is a ‘Yank’ living in the UK since 1997 and she makes and sells the yummiest cakes and desserts you have ever tasted! EASY! Originally more bread like, coffee cakes have evolved and changed. They are still a relatively plain cake, perfect with that cup of coffee, but now fruits, cheese, nuts, sour cream or other creams are used in this wonderfully moreish cake. It is a true taste of American baking!

My first cake was a cake I grew up with and is a traditional Honey Cake, usually served around the Jewish holidays ofRosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, holidays which start the Jewish New Year. This cake is to symbolise agood and sweet year! My family made this cake for all occasions, not only on the holidays, butyear round just because it is delicious. Cream together the butter and 2 cups of the sugar. Add eggs, mixing well, then add the soured cream and vanilla. All brownies freeze, wrapped in foil, for 3 months and will stay perfect kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks – well wrapped. Out of the fridge, well wrapped they will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. This cakewas an American Sour Cream Coffee Cake and my goodness was it a big success! It's one of my favourites, simple, flavourful and truly a cake from my childhood.
