About this deal

Personal assessment and sound judgement are the best tools to determine if an elderly person will succeed on the iWALK 3. The approved Orthomate, designed by StrideOn, with its pneumatic tyres enhances your freedom with a smooth and stable ride over uneven terrain supporting your injured limb 100% of the time. It has helped my husband through this critical time of recovery post ankle surgery when he had to be largely non weight bearing. Well designed and worth the purchase if you are going to be stuck using crutches for a couple months or longer. I hired a strideon knee scooter which took a few days to get used to, once I did the difference it made was unbelievable.

It's funny because the design is fundamentally the same but the little ergonomic tweaks make a huge difference.

Conventional crutches cause chafing, can rub the skin under your arms raw, cause irreparable nerve damage, and easily fatigue your hands and arms. Facing the stairway, hold the handrail with one hand and tuck both crutches under your armpit on the other side.

With our Advice Included model our team is standing by to help you figure out what product would be best for you. It takes a bit of getting used to: as it's an extension of your upper leg there's no bending at the knee, so careful placement when walking is essential so that the foot sits flat on its base and not on an edge as that could cause you to slip (its slightly curved to help this) . The crutch has a clear weight limit (which I am well within) and the straps and other size related things were all adjustable and well thought through. Discover the inspiring story of our photo competition winner, Carol Sherry, whose StrideOn knee walker not only aided her physical recovery but also made a significant positive impact on her mental wellbeing.

No case of falling down occurred during knee walker ambulation, but there were two cases of crutch ambulation. The iWalk was a little bit more to learn, more ballance involved, most terrain- stairs are tricky, especially down. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

This is a good thing though as it provides you the traction you need on slippery floors or icy sidewalks. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no previous original article comparing the clinical results of the knee walker and axillary crutch in foot and ankle patients who require nonweightbearing. Known as the British bulldog of knee scooters amongst the StrideOn team it performs at its best when fresh air is what you crave.

The device has a cushioned platform to support the injured leg and ankle, to ensure that no weight is placed on the injured leg. When you are first learning to use your walking aid, you may wish to have a friend or family member nearby to help steady you and give you support. Begin your step as if you were going to use the injured foot or leg but, instead, shift your weight to the crutches.
