About this deal

Some of It’s botanicals are uniquely derived from its (very special) region and, bottom line, it is a wonderful gin for sipping, vis-à-vis its complexity, frozen or room temperature - – or mixing, for a unique twist before the twist! The result is a super dry elegant that is a match made in heaven for a Martini, and is equally delicious in a gin and tonic. It is made using three types of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oils and olive leaf tea from the world-class groves of Victoria's Cobram Estate. Along with the cold-pressed olive oils and olive leaf, botanicals like rosemary and bay leaf are included that transport you to the Mediterranean, while native macadamia nuts and lemon myrtle make the gin distinctly Australian.

This connection has fallen away over the interceding years but Black Cats founder has revitalised him in the form of their brand which stands for quality artisan gin, in a bottle labelled with that same cats’ cheeky grin! There’s also a helping of lemon and grapefruit in there too, but the focus here is most definitely the gin’s savoury elements. This set features our award-winning Edinburgh Gin Classic - a labour of love, from distillation to first sip, and the heart of the Edinburgh Gin range. So many products such as gin are — fine – – but clumped together with only subtle variations; what is my favorite criteria for something new is a unique profile but carefully balanced within the contours of what is expected, and this “ Olive branch“ extends all that and more to me.Funded through Pozible an Australian version of Kickstarter, Four Pillars is the brainchild of wine making and marketing duo Stuart Gregor and Cameron Mackenzie and brand guru Matt Jones, who want to produce the best craft spirits Australia has to offer. Four Pillars Olive Leaf Gin is Inspired by a visit to the Cobram Estate (makers of top-notch olive oil) during the olive harvest, this expression incorporates both olive leaf and olive oil as botanicals, as well as a host of herbs like rosemary, bay leaf, coriander, and more. In the commune of Avignon in the middle of the Rhône is the island of Barthelasse: the largest river island in Europe. A beautifully balanced Cumbrian Gin containing Juniper, Coriander Seeds, Olives and Herbs as well as complimentary botanicals which lend its distinctive signature notes. The clever use native macadamia nuts and lemon myrtle give the gin distinctly modern Australian twist though.
