WEATHERPROOFING: Tested in 35 mph winds, the fiberglass poles come preattached and will stay strong in gale force winds without being too noisy. The material on the flysheet and on the inner is 100% waterproof and has welded corners and inverted seams to help keep you dry, Too soon to say how it handles in wind and rain. My guess (from 40 years of experience) is that it will handle rain well and moderate/fairly strong winds - I wouldn't like to chance a gale in an exposed place! But pretty sturdy (don't be put off though!). But, don’t worry; the Quechua has all the features you could hope for, like a flysheet and mechanical ventilation.
Another benefit of the Coleman instant tent is its instant setup– much faster than the Octagon. Having an instant tent (sometimes called a pop-up tent) is always a plus. The first two layers reflect the sunlight, the third layer absorbs the light, and the last layer helps reduce the tent’s heat on a hot summer day. I love any feature that gives me options for how to organize the interior of my own tent setup. A more customizable tent is always a good tent.

The other darkest tents on the market don’t even compare to the Quechua. It’s truly a fantastic piece of technology that’s perfect for almost all scenarios that I’ve come across. Although this tent isn’t the best on this list, you get what you pay for. If you’re after the darkest tent, you’ll have to spend some extra money. This tent works well for small or large families. Also, you can set this tent up in less than 10 minutes. Having to carry your tent in your hands is never fun. The weight will increase depending on what size you get. Small tents generally have low roofs, but you should still look for one that is tall enough to sit up fully without your head touching the roof. For larger groups above four, you might want to consider a tent with multiple rooms or at least a screen porch. Doors, Windows, and Bug Mesh The Coleman Sundome has a spacious interior that is perfect for your trip. The max occupancy is six people, but I prefer more room to sleep comfortably during these trips. These infrequent negative experiences don’t affect my stance on its durability because it might have happened in the factory and wasn’t due to wear and tear.One of the top reasons I love camping is the ability to see the night sky. So, it’s great that the Ozark Trail Dark Rest had a sky-viewing option. Technically, the Skydome is a four-person tent, but realistically, it fits two people comfortably. For this price, you can’t beat it! Ideal for a either shelter or shade whilst eating perhaps, or just lounging about.
The ventilation mesh runs around the outside of the inner tent, like large window panes, to keep air circulation flowing out. This gives you a 360-degree view of your surroundings with the curtains open and is key when you can have up to 10 people sleeping inside the same tent. The enormous screen room is typically a part of the sleeping area. There’s an option to close off the sleeping area from the rest of the screen room if needed. The spacious interior works fine if I’m only camping with one other person. It’s cheap enough to buy multiple, too, if you have numerous family members and you want some room to spread out. Due to its low weight and small size, I have used the Vango as a camping tent for other events like festivals and fishing trips.

Not only this but the sleeping room is also split up into two sections, which is perfect for separating a kids and adults section! At first, I wasn’t worried about any weather problems with the Coleman Skydome. But after a few trips, the tent started to leak during heavy rainstorms. In terms of weight, this darkroom tent is heavy at 61.7 lbs / 28 kg, which is due to the insulation layer, which is heavier than typical tent material. The shell material is a laminated polycotton 80/20 blend, which is hard-wearing and breathable. The ripstop weave prevents most punctures from happening, but if it does rip, then it won’t tear or spread. Also if you have small children or pets, the mesh door should prevent them from escaping from the tent whilst still giving that feeling of letting the outside into the tent. The tent definitely feels cooler in full sun than a tent with more translucent fabric. For six people, you have to really squeeze up close to each other, and there isn’t any porch space, so I would suggest this is better for a spacious five-person tent than for six people. Short people may be able to stand up fully in the center however, most will have to crouch slightly. Instant tents are fantastic for beginners, but they’re also perfect for a busy family. This one can also host up to two blowup air mattresses, sleeping up to six people.
