About this deal

Mitch Rapp, a CIA’s best counter-terrorism super-agent has worked with many presidents, but Anthony Cook is different. He is cunning, autocratic, and distrustful towards government-run agencies. This is just the beginning of an intricately plotted thriller that pits Mitch against a terrorist with a God complex and an army of drug fueled followers in the Ugandan jungle, a CIA mole at the highest level and a new President and First Lady with dreams of an autocratic dynasty. ENEMY AT THE GATE is a superb novel of espionage, sabotage, political realities in today’s world, intrigue. It accurately depicts jungle warfare as it occurs in isolated regions of the world. Cannibalism is not an unheard of activity in the Third World. It is fighting at its most savage. What she said was an understatement of truly grand proportions. Ward was looking to transform health care worldwide, and Chism’s vaccine research was one of the cornerstones of that effort. Combined with Ward’s work in medical artificial intelligence and his ideas about decentralizing and democratizing the medical industry, they had the status quo under serious threat. Further, wealth creation seemed to be becoming an increasingly zero-sum game. Every time Ward won, there was some billionaire or corporation that lost. Virtually no one could keep up with him and the few who could, he hired. That was our assumption, but our people are going through the rubble and haven’t found any bodies.”

Here are the short biographies of 3 friends of Rapp who play a significant role in Enemy at the Gates: But he’s a regional threat,” Cook interrupted, once again displaying his grasp of international issues. “And he’s only a Muslim when it’s convenient to him. He uses Christianity, animism, and anything else he can come up with just as easily. The truth is that he’s a messianic cult leader who’s never going to stir up any trouble outside of Uganda and the DRC.”When Mitch Rapp captures ISIS’s top technology expert, he reveals that he was on his way to meet a man who claims to have the ability to bring down America’s power grid. Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA’s trap fails. Setting so many scenes in Uganda and South Africa is also a welcome change. No surprise to readers of the series, the action scenes continue to be well-done and very engaging. First, there’s no question that we need to send a team to Uganda to try to find Chism. We know how Ward feels about us but to date he hasn’t gotten too deeply involved in politics. We don’t need him rethinking that and staking out a position against your administration. I think we both agree there’s no chance of turning him into an ally, but if we do him this favor, we might be able to neutralize him as an enemy.” The man walking toward her seemed to fit perfectly with the environment he’d created. At forty-four, Anthony Cook was one of the youngest presidents in US history. He’d managed to rise from the turmoil created by the suicide of his party’s front-runner, crushing the more conventional replacement candidates endorsed by the establishment. The American people had been fed up with business as usual for a long time and that, combined with the hardship brought about by the electrical grid failure, had sent them on a search for someone different. This thriller, set in Uganda, has David Chism a brilliant scientist, being hunted my terrorist and psychopath Gideon Auma. Nicholas Ward who funds Chism's research hires Scott Coleman and Mitch Rapp to rescue David against President Cooks demands.

Make no mistake folks. The Mitch Rapp Legacy is in great hands with Kyle Mills and we get to reap the rewards of his efforts. Rapp and his team embark on a desperate search for the only people who know how to repair the damage—the ones responsible. But his operating environment is like nothing he’s experienced before. Computers and communication networks are down, fuel can no longer be pumped from gas stations, water and sanitation systems are on the brink of collapse, and the supply of food is running out. The fifth of seven children, Vince Flynn was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1966. He graduated from the St. Thomas Academy in 1984, and the University of St. Thomas with a degree in economics in 1988. Writing is OK yet sometimes really bad. Story line is OK yet unfinished, ending leaves you hanging like WTF just happened? Where is the real ending to the story! I guess they are motivated to sell you the next book and do not care if you are satisfied with this one. Also the ending involves about 15 min of rambling verbosity from a character who thinks (out of character from previous books) that they know the world better than most, thus giving him the right to assassinate Mitch, the world's 1st trillionaire and the world's leading pandemic doctor. One positive aspect of this lifestyle is that you can’t help but absorb an enormous amount about the FBI, CIA, Special Forces, etc. Like most young boys, I was endlessly fascinated with talk of chasing criminals and, of course, pictured it in the most romantic terms possible. Who would have thought that all this esoteric knowledge would end up being so useful?I’ve enjoyed the Mitch Rapp series from the beginning and my curiosity has never waned. When Vince Flynn passed on, I was sure things would come to an abrupt halt, but Kyle Mills was able to take over the reins and keep things moving. He has done a marvellous job at seamlessly creating a new tangent in the series without losing the flavour that Flynn brought to his thrillers. While Rapp has surely aged and become more of a family man (unheard of, usually), there is still a lot of spark left. I have no complaints! When Kennedy discovers evidence of a mole scouring the Agency’s database for sensitive information on Nicholas Ward, the world’s first trillionaire, she convinces Rapp to take a job protecting him. In doing so, he finds himself walking an impossible tightrope: Keep the man alive, but also use him as bait to uncover a traitor who has seemingly unlimited access to government secrets. A toxic presidential election is ongoing in an America that is already weakened by internal divisions. Rapp, completely cut off from the agency, must uncover the identity of the mole and deal with him. But the situation is deeper and more complex than he ever could have imagined, involving the President of the United States himself.

The latest addition to Mitch Rapp’s novel series is the Enemy of the Gates, a wonderful novel. The book is written by a great novelist, Kyle Mills after Vince’s demise. A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy. Dr. Kennedy?” the president’s secretary said, glancing up from her monitor. “You can go in. He’s expecting you.” A huge thank you to the team that creates the Ambassador program for giving me the pleasure to read my favorite series early and recruit new fans to the World of Mitch Rapp! Finally, in a great character aside, look for how Mitch Rapp takes responsibility for the actions of the mole toward the end. Irene and I are in the same business—we both want to keep people safe and healthy. That’s landed us at a few of the same conferences and participating on the same panels.” He flashed the everyman smile that he was known for. “I figure the fact that she hasn’t had me killed yet makes us friends.” Kyle keeps proving why he was the best choice to continue the Mitch Rapp saga after the untimely passing of Vince Flynn and keeps me wanting more. I am now anxiously awaiting the next installment to see where Mitch is heading and what is in store for the rest of the characters in the Rappverse after the events of Enemy At The Gates (so many questions left unanswered).
