More recently, Marvel has come under fire for reportedly using artificial intelligence (AI) to create the title sequence for Secret Invasion, its latest Disney Plus TV series. Per Polygon, VFX studio Method used AI-based technology to design the sequence and bring it to life – something that hasn't sat right with MCU fans or critics. If this timeline is the same, then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should come to streaming around late-July to early-August at the latest. Speaking to Deadline, Gunn also said: "It’s not ever going to be the same group of characters for a lot of different reasons. Who knows what will happen with the Guardians franchise in regards to future characters, but in terms of this group of characters, this is the end of their story."

Thankfully, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 won’t be an entirely somber cinematic outing. The threequel retains the self-deprecating humor that made the other films so enjoyable, with Gillan telling The Wrap: "There’s been way more improv for me this time around than I have ever given before. I don’t know if they’ll make the cut but I hope they do." The filmmakers were not afraid to take their time telling this story, which caused the film to drag at times. Though it felt lengthy at 2 hours and 30 minutes, I do not know what they could have cut out. In typical superhero movie fashion, the climactic battle had plenty of explosions to go around. Marvel has still got a lot to look forward to, though, with The Marvels out towards the end of 2023 and the buildup to Avengers The Kang Dynasty in 2025.
