About this deal

In the past, you have seen us review gins and gin liqueurs from a number of different supermarket giants and companies. This good value gin hails from Italy’s Amalfi Coast and makes use of native botanicals including local lemons and Sicilian pink grapefruits. Unsurprisingly it’s bursting with bright citrus freshness, alongside a tart hit of rhubarb. But it’s also a well balanced gin with classic spice notes and a proper hit of piney juniper. When aperitivo hour arrives pair it with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic in a zesty G&T garnished with a slice of pink grapefruit. Then sip and embrace la dolce vita… Alc 41%

Hayman's Old Tom Gin:Old Tom gins bridge the gap between sweet genever and the famous London dry gins. Hayman's is one of the best brands of this small class of old-school gin. The world of flavored gin is vastly growing, though not all that’s seasoned is created equal—so what exactly is the difference between flavored gin and “regular” gin, anyways? The experts have spoken. Our expert panel worked their way through each item in 21 gift sets, looking for smooth, easy-drinking gins with well-balanced botanicals. Additional items were judged on flavour and quality, while also taking into consideration the overall presentation.Plymouth Gin : A fruitier profile with a full body, Plymouth Gin is a perfect candidate for the pink gin.

Over the past several years, we have watched and waited as numerous retailers have begun crafting their own-label gins. These gins are known to be affordable, and they match the needs of the retailers’ desired target market. In short, the difference between flavored gin and ‘regular’ gin is that there’s another dominant flavor beyond juniper at work in the [spirit],” says Jake Sherry, owner and distiller at New York's Isolation Proof. He explains that flavored gins can get their flavoring from distillation, maceration and/or barrel aging. Sherry also notes that flavored gins are often associated with a color that is suggestive of the flavor of the ingredients, like pink gin. To truly capture the sunlight, Asda’s Extra Special Raspberry and Rose Gin Liqueur is full of glitter that shimmers under the sun in almost any drink. This gin liqueur is fruity, vibrant and affordable. We would highly recommend pairing it with Fentimans Tonic Water for a refreshing twist on a classic gin and tonic. ASDA Extra Special Raspberry & Rose Gin Liqueur 5. ASDA Extra Special Pear Drop Gin Devon’s Salcombe Distilling Co makes a range of excellent gins – including alcohol-free options – and its pink offering is no exception. Inspired by the South of France (Sainte Marie is a lighthouse in the old port of Marseille) it’s pale Provençal rosé pink in colour, with a floral, herbaceous nose: thyme and orange blossom hints plus red berry fruit. The silky and sophisticated palate has appealing notes of rose, plus a decent hit of juniper and a fresh herbaceous finish. Pair with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic for a summery, floral Gin & Tonic. Alc 41.4% Our in-house drinks expert enlisted a panel of testers to hunt for well-balanced, aromatic pink gins. They tried 22 different brands in total, looking for easy-drinking styles with well-integrated botanicals. As part of our latest big gin taste test, our panel of spirits experts and gin-loving consumers tried 72 bottles, of which 22 fell into the pink gin category. Each was tried neat, and then again diluted with a small amount of water, to ensure the flavour was not impaired by any mixer. The team behind Mirabeau rosé wines make this elegant pink gin that’s inspired by, and infused with, the grapes and botanicals growing wild on their Provence estate. A base of grape spirit extracted from Mirabeau’s Forever Summer wine is combined with 12 botanicals including juniper, coriander seed, lemon peel, lavender, jasmine, bay leaf, thyme, rosemary, iris root and angelica. They give an enveloping and fragrant florality on the nose, while the palate is lifted by citrus freshness and given an earthy touch by generous herbaceousness. There’s also an underlying soft sweetness from the addition of Mirabeau’s Provence rosé to the distillation. Refreshing and enjoyable to sip on its own, although a lemon peel garnish combined with a bitter tonic, or grapefruit juice, works well to amplify the herbal and floral characters while accenting the sweetness. Alc 43% Parma violet flavoured gins have been successful for quite a while now, and Asda’s Extra Special Parma Violet Gin really does taste of our beloved sweets. It comes as no literal surprise to us that this gin sold out when it was first released, and it stands up well against some of the other parma violet offerings that are currently available in the world of gin. ASDA Extra Special Parma Violet Gin 8. ASDA Extra Special Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur Most commonly, you’ll find strawberry, raspberry, pink grapefruit, rhubarb or even rose petals included. They'll vary in colour from pale blushes to vibrant bubblegum pink, and you'll likely find that most big brands have had a go, and even some supermarkets! How should I serve pink gin? At first, we saw London Dry Gins and some relatively standard options, whereas now we are seeing supermarkets and retailers who are slightly more innovative than some actual distilleries are. Some of our favourite options that are offered by supermarket giant Asda include: 1. ASDA Extra Special Pink Gin
