About this deal

Not every miniature needs to be blindingly bright on the tabletop. A rich and easy-to-apply colour is the perfect accompaniment to help the vibrant models in your army stand out even more. These paints will give you reliable and resplendent results with no fuss – ideal for the core colour of an army. A lot of these same schemes and colors can be used across the rest of the Saurus and even the Skinks. I plan on doing a slightly lighter version of this for my own Skinks. I was also at Warhammer World last weekend, and managed to have a go wit hthe new contrasts. My base hope was that Kroxigor scales was roughly the equivalent of thinned Akhelian green, and I wasnt disappointed - if you look at the test model below, the right leg is pure kroxigor, while the left is 50/50 akhelian to medium - both applied in medium coats to allow both tinting and shading - you can see however that the akhelian is a little blotchy still. These are both over leadbelcher, so a little darker, but they'll look great over ironbreaker. I think I'll be converting to kroxigor to save time messing round with mixing paint. In a galaxy-spanning empire of a million or more planets, there are a multitude of regiments of the Astra Militarum , all sworn to uphold and defend the beleaguered Imperium of Man. Imagine how upset they all get every time the Cadians turn up and hog all the limelight.*

You can also see my initial forays into AL in the army, namely the halved scheme on the destroyers. I'm loathe to repaint while there's other units to paint for the first time, so I'll probably finish them off then save them for another day. I think I've pulled the trigger fully on the metlaiic teal alphas, so I'll stop dallying with other schemes and go with that. Max: Narrative is at the heart of so many of our paint scheme decisions. For the Seraphon it came down to the distinction between the Coalesced and the Starborne. The new miniatures are the most lifelike and believable incarnation of the Seraphon to date, and they needed a paint scheme to match. Iyanden Yellow and Nazdreg Yellow were a dream for painters when they first dropped – easy-to-achieve yellows in one coat! Bad Moon Yellow provides an even brighter choice, especially over a White Scar undercoat. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be a Warhammer hobbyist – the Citadel Colour range is expanding with 25 vivid and versatile new Contrast paints, the Shade range has been reformulated with a further seven new colours added, and a brand new bright white spray primer is coming! It’s a chromatic Christmas, and it’s still summer! Thanks folks! I went with orange in the end, for this unit at least - they do stand out quite nicely. This treasure trove of tooth and claw will be coalescing before the rest of the range, giving your first taste of Seraphon supremacy. Pylar Glacier creates the illusion of an icy surface with no hassle. Briar Queen Chill and Dreadful Visage live up to their names, making them ideal for spectral phantasms or smoky apparitions, and Mantis Warriors Green offers a luminous green-yellow that’s perfect for bolts of wyrd energy.

All of the ropes and leather straps on the model, including the grip on the weapon and shield, were tidied up with Wraithbone, before getting a coat of Gore-Grunta Fur.The Citadel paint range exploded with colour last month, as eye-popping new Contrasts and reformulated Shades hit the shelves. Since we’ve had some time to get familiar with the newcomers, we challenged members of the Warhammer Community team to use their new paints in strange and interesting ways. Here’s what they came up with. Ben Galler The shrine-moon of Puceilles Beta maintains grand holo-glass memorials for each regiment it sends forth into the galaxy, praying for their martyrdom – these Puceilles Bannerets refuse to return home except as glorious relics.

Adeptus Mechanicus: The Adeptus Mechanicus are a faction of the Imperium of Man that specialize in technology and machines. These models often feature a metallic and mechanical appearance, but some also have scaly and textured components. Kroxigor Scales can be used to create an interesting contrast and help to add more depth to these models.

The salamanders herded by Sun Acolytes born under the blessing of Chotec are a unique element among the Seraphon. These creatures are essentially living artillery, belching flaming globs of corrosive saliva across the battlefield to weaken the armour and broil the flesh of their enemies.* The Seraphon are the protectors of the Great Plan – refugees from the World-that-Was, they floated through the void for aeons until they discovered the Mortal Realms. Under the guidance of the Slann Starmasters, they battle the forces of Chaos to maintain the balance of the astromatrix . While the worlds of Warhammer are littered with incandescent energy weapons and boldly-coloured robes, they’re also home to pallid ghouls and ethereal entities that can discorporate in the blink of an eye. All Seraphon operate under the command of the Slann Starmasters. These ancient amphibian augurs were created by the Old Ones to ensure the cosmic equation known as the Astromatrix is not unbalanced and the Great Plan comes to pass. Their mastery of cosmic energies and spellcasting prowess make them powerful linchpins for any Seraphon host. Skink Starseer Standing nearly two stories tall, Kroxigors are amongst the largest and most feared creatures within the Lustrian Jungles.

Lizardmen teams everywhere have been hiring these monstrous reptiles to dominate the line of scrimmage, freeing up their Saurus to do what they do best – punch, claw, and bite their way through the opposition to create space for a speedy Skink to slip through and make for the end zone. Caliban Green: This dark green color is an excellent choice to complement Kroxigor Scales. It is an analogous color that would create a balanced and cohesive color scheme, with both colors appearing natural in a similar environment. new paints is a lot of colour to cover, so we’ve split the range into four simple categories to help you get an idea of what they look like. These new colours run the gamut from bright and bold to grimy and eerie – whether you’re painting a tank turret or a raging Endless Spell, there’s a pot here for you. The Adeptus Mechanicus have a variety of textures in their models, including some scaly and reptilian parts, providing an opportunity to use Kroxigor Scales to create an interesting contrast. Finally, Astra Militarum models can be painted with a variety of colors and textures, and Kroxigor Scales can be used to create an unexpected but visually interesting color scheme. Kroxigor Scales Colour Schemes & CombinationsThere’s a shadow forming on the galactic west as the full might of Hive Fleet Leviathan bears down on the Imperium. Just how bad could a Tyranid invasion be? Loremasters has put together a potted history of Tyranid Invasions for you to enjoy this week on Warhammer+ . Tacticals - not the best place for my hydran examplar, held ground and advanced well - they're called Taxticals for a reason, right? A rhino would have helped get them up table fast. Not only have all of the existing Shades been reformulated – during the process of refining these recipes, the Citadel Colour technicians were inspired to create seven entirely new paints.* Emma: Such a rich, vibrant teal colour! It’s perfect for Seraphon and many other models – I have even thinned it down to make a spooky verdigris for Grand Alliance Death models.
