I have Marantz CD6005 which i believe is similar to the CD6006 (same DAC) and it does have CD text. To be honest, it's not a feature needed if you sit far away from the cd player and you have the cd case.
When using the analogue output, it is rolled off in the treble and can be a bit foggy/confused sounding in the bass. It's a fine budget player, but it doesn't quite do enough for me.It’s been fine since I cleaned and re-lubed the mechanism but I don’t think that really should be necessary for a CDP that’s under three years old and seen regular, moderate use - certainly hasn’t been for any other CDP I’ve ever owned. Have to say I like this review I think WH is guilty sometimes of exaggeration in the difference. But I think it's made it clear that yes it's better..but not to the point it demands an upgrade. The Marantz CD6007 and Rotel CD11 Tribute are both great players. I've got the Marantz and my Dad has the Rotel, and I'd happily recommend either. The Marantz is closer in sound to your Arcam, and the Rotel has more punch. The Denon players are also worthy - DCD600NE and DCD800NE both excellent buys. Marantz CD6007 : Read moreHi there, I was about to but the CD6006SE when the CD6007 came out I made enquiries about possible SE edition for the 6007, couldn't find out anything so I rang Marantz UK customer help line. They tell me they have no plans to produce a SE edition. Disappointing for many I fell but I'm not in a hurry so may just wait. (I've signed up for their newsletter so perhaps we will hear it there first if at all) I think they have used the filters to effectively give two version performance in one unit perhaps?
